Well after 2 years of looking around my area for one i finally bought my first 250sx. It is a 86 model, but needs a lot of tlc. Motor sounds great but the rearend has a issue. Any thoughts on it would be helpful. I gave 400.00 for it but it also come with a 81 atc200 in great shape, and a 84 big red in decent shape. Both run though. Thanks for any thought on the sx rearend.

I ended up using the rearend out of the parts 86 BR on this SX. worked like a charm. Cleaned out the carb and now is running like a new one. This thing is a blast to ride. Thanks for the advice everyone.

the diff is making noise? or a bearing noise? does the diff make a clicking noise? if you need a diff they are easy to find anywhere from $50 -$200 will score you a good one depending how lucky you are on the price,

hey, i was just wondering how you tell the difference between bearing noise and in the diff, if i roll my bike forward it makes a clicking sound, or if i tap the throttle and the front tire comes up, it makes the noise when the front tire lands again, not too sure what this could be? any advice greatly appreciated pm mee...

I Have a 85sx with only cosmetic problems. When we bought it tho we heard a lot of noises but it turned out to be the brakes were staying locked. It still hasent been fixed because I learned with no brakes so I just gear down to stop. Makes a nice parking break tho.
