I thought I would share a story with you all on here.

So the other weekend I was down in NY at my cabin when my neighbor across the way calls me up on the radio and lets me know he got a new toy. I get on my trusty 250sx and head over there to see him with a Yamaha 225 he bough off the classifieds somewhere in NY. Prior to this new addition he had a mule which looked similar to this

it never went fast and he is one of those fellows who believes that no maintenance is good maintenance...yes we are talking hitting trees, no lights, never adding or changing the oil type of maintenance ( I know some of you are looking away, but keep reading). He was jealous that his 350cc mule had nothing on my 250cc sx, he wanted power and speed, I told him 3 wheelers are God sent, so he want and bought one.

After telling him to take her slow, learn to feel the bike, feel its limits, how it turns, how to shift weight and manage the power when shifting he decides that he grew up on a farm and he knows better.
Sooo he takes to down a hill, slowly, no problem, turn around and decides to come back up...fast. he was not able to handle the power and the shifting and leaning and he flips the 225 and rolls it onto himself, fractures his ankle and adds a clean slice right to the bone, blood everywhere. 12 stitches later he is fine but the bike is crying.

I am a honda lover and Owner, now this yamaha will need some tender loving care. I expect that he will never fix the damage he caused to the bike, it already had some minor problems ( I wont bother to list). Either way I see him leaving this bike to do nothing in the woods, like the multiple chainsaws and riding lawnmowers around on his motor graveyard. I hope to talk him into giving it to me or selling cheap so that I can work on it as a project bike and become a yamaha rider along side my other hondas.

He just left it as it layed out in the woods? That is hilarious. He'd probably give it to you.

Yea, they are nothing but death machines, doesn't he watch 20/20?:D

Seriously though the 225's are pretty good trikes, maybe just a touch behind the 250sx's but only in the looks department (I just like the look of a traditional gas tank)

I think his pride was hurt (along with his ankle) yeah the bike was flipped back on its wheels and it is just sitting behind his place in the motor graveyard now. I have never tried the yellow beasts, I am sure it would be more than enough power for what i am using it for back in the hills. I can always use another spare machine for friends/family when they are visiting. it will need work. I think it has a bent fork, it smokes when running (assuming need to bore out cylinder, new piston, new rings) the brake handle leaver snapped off, and the gears don't like to change, I got it into 3rd gear ONCE, but mostly 1st and second only. (don't know what that issue is) other than that I think she is a fine machine.

I have onwned a 250SX and a 225DX before and the DX has plenty of power. Not quite as much as the SX, but it will definately hold it's own.

I got it into 3rd gear ONCE.

...So he "LOST IT" in second?... Put him on a 70, put it in first gear and pull off the shift lever, then let him loose in an open field, tell him if he makes it all day without any new injuries he can have the shifter back...

Hahaha ! I made the suggestion to his wife that he get a 90. I like the idea of a 70 with no shifter in a field. hahah too funny. It was pretty hard not to laugh when he tanked the bike. I think the universe was telling him to stick with the mule.

For some reason atc/atvs/bikes usually come up for sell after a dude get wadded up on one. Nows a good time for you to pick up your next project!
