Hello,
I'm looking for a picture of how the parts go together, as i am trying to rebuild a 1982 Honda atc 200cc recoil starter. If you have one that would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
(Sorry if i posted in the wrong thread I'm new)

I use parts fisches very often to select correct parts.

When I fixed my 200s starter a couple of months ago, what I did was buy a new rope and wound the rope as much as i could around the pulley. I had way too much tied around it but that was what I wanted. Then I put the pulley into the spring cover thingy and then pushed the rope though the hole. Next I pulled the rope and while pulling it, the pulley caught on the spring and started building pressure. Once I was happy with how much pressure there was, I tied it off and then put the handle on. It works fine now and it was very easy to do.
Getting the spring wound and put back into the housing was a royal pain in the arse.

I seem to remember the 82 200 pullstart being a real pain in the ass to rebuild because of the automatic compression release gizmo. expeccialy when things are rusty.
