In the pics below:

I believe the red plastic pieces on the front of the frame by the steering head are air scoops for the intake. What goes in the clip on the right side one? On a factory condition trike, do any control cables or electric wires go through these scoops?

In the other pics, What is the plastic bushing for?

Thanks!

JEB, on mine there is a plastic connector in that red duct and it. That connector goes to either the CDI or the Volt regulator (I forget). And the metal clip on the 6mm screw holds one set of wires going to that tucked away connector. Hope that helps!!

I have a grommet near the regulator in the rear of the frame and nothing goes through it? I have no idea what it's for.

that piece you are pointing to looks like the piece that slides into the top of the triple, into the chrome nut on top of the triple clamp, that the gas cap breather line goes into???

the grommet you speak of fits in the nut that holds the top triple clamp on. it is there to prevent the gas cap vent tube that is run into the hole in the nut. thiece piece prevents the metal edge of the bolt from chaffing the vent tube.

the clip on the air scoops is to hold part of the wiring cluster.

Clip on front is for wire harness W/rubber sleeve that goes to CDI.

The gromet can also be one of the airbox bushings.

The front of the airbox has two slide-on extrusions that slide onto the frame points(no idea what else to call them). These points supposed to have a rubber bushing to hold the airbox snug.

Hi Jeb

How have you been? I feel bad that I'm coming in part way through, but did you defect to Honda? Shame on you! It looks like you have a project. Mr. ATC is correct. Good Luck

Thanks again to everyone for the help! I got a factory service manual off of ebay for $8.99. The guy says it's still in the plastic. we'll see when it arrives. I guess thats a good enough price for one. Now I shouldn't have to clutter the board up with my silly questions!

Doing great ChrisD! Where have you & JohnR been hiding lately? Did he ever get that Cal-Fab swingarm on his 86 KXT? The two pics in the first post are not my stuff, I borrowed them from ebay for illustration purposes.

Haven't "defected" to Honda. Just added a Honda addition to the family. :-D

If its a Official Honda Shop Manual you got one heck of a deal. I bought one on E-Bay and paid $40.00 plus shipping still in plastic

Figured out the plastic bushing. I had two extra bushings that were similar to the one in the picture. I figured out they go inside of the rear gas tank mounts where the seat/fender catches on.

I guess I'm missing the bushing that goes under the triple clamp nut.

DirtCrasher, I saw the grommet under the voltage regulator you spoke of. I don't know what it's for either.
