I had the same problem with my gas tank when I got my trike. I did a bit of research online and there are a few different methods of cleaning out a tank. If you do a google search, you should be able to find different methods of getting it done. It all depends on the amount of rust and gunk in the bottom of the tank. I drained mine after taking it off. I then cleaned it using varsol and a bunch of smaller nuts poured into the tank. I put the gas cap back on and shook the living ---- out of it. Drained the dirty varsol, put fresh in...I repeated this a few times then let it soak overnight. After draining it the final time, I took the hose to it to rince it out and emptied out the nuts I put in the tank to slosh around and loosen all the debris built up in the bottom of the tank. After rinsing it with the hose, I brought it in the house straight into the bathtub, poured a small amount of soap in it, filled it with hot water and sloshed it around. I did this a few more time till it was rinsed clean. I brought it back outside and flipped it over to make sure all the water was drained out. Mine was more dirt and debris though than it was rusty. I know there are special coating you can use to re-line the tank after you get it clean. Mine didn't need it though I plan on eventually coating it just as a precaution.

download a manual in WORLD CLASS HELP section and go through all the critical parts of your new machine.get new tires ,new oil,new gas, probably new cables, run a inline fuel filter now, clean and coat your tank, clean your carbs and set them to stock settings,go through and clean and regrease your bearings, check and clean your brakes, get new if needed.and enjoy your new machine
