DO NOT USE A CHEATER!!! You will eventually twist that sucker off. Try using a 6 point socket and the biggest air impact wrench you can get your hands on... Rattle the axle out. How western of Wisc. are you? I am just in Mlps. Can give you a hand if you need it...

You're definately askin to snap that sucker off. Try an impact, maybe some heat too.

Thanks for the advice, my next step was to go with a larger impact; will heat help?

Heat will help, but be careful not to get the aluminum too hot... Some of the old timers swear to heat it enough to slather it with wax, allowing the heat to draw the wax into the threads, kinda like a penetrating oil... (never done it myself, the impact got my axle out of my ES)

my uncle was nuts but he used to use dry ice, freeze both components, then just heat the nut so it expands?
if it does ever move, go on and of and on and off to hopefully dislodge thread gremlins.
Wonder if a 'nut splitter' would fit on it?
I might be next with my br

thanks, but I think I will let it slide for now, don't need to break expensive parts for no reason. By the way where does a guy
find a paint code for those older machines?

I can tell you for fact that you will more than likely twist it off. Had the same problem on a 250sx. Heating it seems to help. Try getting some pentrating lube in the threads then hit it with an air impact!
