^ I don't have the accuracy to bore cylinders on that machine, you want a true boring machine or something a bit newer than mine.
Kustom Kraft is know to do excellent work on boring/honing......
Search Google, you'll find them.....

I decided to go with a custom paint instead of powdercoat on this one.Only because the color we wanted to do in powdercoat the wife didn't like.Women.lmao....So I will be sanding this primer down and getting ready for paint..I hate sanding..lol.....I will post more pictures as the week goes on...TrikeBuilder

I'm not making anymore because no one wanted to pay 100$ for a new custom built and powder coated guard. 75$ raw. The materials alone were 20$.
Everyone that DID buy one, loves them. It's either the economy or people would rather just ride. PM anyone that bought one, TANKS, ALDOCHINA, OLD TIMER and many more......(and thank you for buying them!!) :D I believe I sold the last raw one yesterday and I'm keeping 2 for my builds/crashes.......
I'll build them again if I get 10 people......
Keep um coming TRIKEBUILDER!! Be prepared to be scrutinized  J/K - but it may happen; You seem pretty thick skinned, you'll be fine............
Please let trikebuilder do his thing, he asked me what I did so I showed a few things but there is a whole thread on the guards in R and D or somewhere, or PM me.......

Well todays post is from yesterday of rebuilding the lower end of this 1985 250r.I bought a 1987 long rod crank.I will have to use a spacer plate with the base gaskets for use of this long rod crank. The cylinder will be bore 20 thousands over with some mild porting. The head will be shaved 10 thousands.I still am waiting on the cylinder head and jugg to return. I havnt decided on a rear shock yet.I want a nice ride for my wife.Maybe Ill get a 450r rear shock or something.Let me know what you think about that..what should I put in there....The front forks are being rebuild and new fort seals installed.........Many more pics to come as we get through my hectic schedule.lol

curoius... why go to all the trouble of a spacer plate ? seems a short rod would be just fine for what your doing,,,
trikebuilder30
10-06-2010, 10:03 PM
I just decided to go that way is all.I already had a spacer kit and gaskets. So i figured why not use it.It was just in a box and never used. But i do see what you are saying kasey. Why would someone do it otherwise...also it my wifes bike....And she dose ride like me so just giving it a little pep.lol....Trike..

if your using the stock length swingarm the 450r quad shock is way to stiff.also you have to worry about the reservoir on top of the shock unless you use one with a remote resevoir
KASEY
10-06-2010, 11:09 PM
in a mildly built motor the long rod does nothing.. thats all i was saying.. did you already have a short rod piston? cause if you used the right piston you would not need a spacer with the long rod.........
