I just bought this on a whim. I need a good exhaust with sparky for my 1st gen x so I said what the hell and bought it. Anyone know anything about it? Says it has a spark arrester. Hopefully it's not too loud. Looks pretty cool.

I don't know how I missed that one. I've been doing 200x pipe, 200x exhaust, 200x muffler searches for weeks and I never saw that. Congrats on getting it before I did, lol. Looks good, is that an OEM head pipe? I have someone making me one but he's one of those people that might bring it today or it could be a year before he gets to it.

well thats the only one other than the one i have on my old 85 200x that i have seen.
Mine has a real raspy sound - i like it. Fits nice with no burn holes in plastic. It looks more like a 2 stroke muffler. Mine doesnt have a sparky. idk

Spark arrestor is required in a lot of the national forests now. It keeps sparks (flames) from being expelled out the rear of the exhaust if the bike is running very rich. It is a way of helping to prevent forest fires.

On the public trails here in Wisconsin you have to run a sparky. One reason why I bought this one.
It's a stock headpipe
Brrcuda, you say it's got a raspy sound. How loud is it? The DNR wardens are real muthers about decibls on the lake I live on. Have you ever re-packed yours?

Finally got around to installing. It hooks up very nicely to the stack header, no gasket needed. Bolts right up to the stock mounts. Only dissapointment is there is no sparky. Mufflet appears to be amost new. Packing inside looks new. With a bit of polishing I bet this thing would sparkle.

It sounds really good. But I'm afraid it's too loud. My buddy is friends with the local warden. Gonna see if he'll come over to my house and test it with the decible meter. I'd hate for him to give me a ticket this winter on the lake. If the wind dies down a bit in the next day I'll try to get a little vid of it running so ya all can hear it.

If you decide it is too loud. I would be interested in purchasing it. My 200x's head pipe just rotted in half! Right at the motor! Anyway, I'm sad and need a good pipe n muffler. If you decide to let it go just PM me. Be Cool.

Sorry, no vid of it running right now. I have the engine pulled to replace the leaky valve seals I forgot to change the last time I had it apart. If time allows I'll have it back togethr this weekend. Try to take a quik vid early next week. It is prettylloud. Sounds badais though. The no sparky has me wonderin. I've heard of people fitting a FMF sparky on a DG system. Gonna look into it. Might see waht I can get for the Answer to fund a DG and sparky. The Answer bolts up snuggly to the stock header with no gasket needed.
