Morning,
First I'm new to this forum and I did do several search's before posting this.
I'm looking to replace the troubled swing arm bolt that many of you already know about, for a 84 Honda 200x. Per older posts the person "Yamahondaman" was the go to guy for said part. When I go to his profile I'm under the impression that he has passed away. Is this correct ?
So my question is: Is there anywhere else to buy this bolt or anyone else selling them?
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

last i checked there was a few on ebay they can be a bit expensive but it is one of those parts that the seller realizes if your lookin for it you need it so imo that explians the price i replaced one on a 85 200x i paid $45 for it on ebay

Yes I seen one on eBay but it looked pretty rough. With all the trouble I had with my old bolt I have to wonder how good of shape the part is in that they're trying to sell. I was hoping to buy new, stainless or equivalent, something that isn't going to rust in place again. Thats ideal of course but if I need to go with original that is far better than not having the bike to ride at all.
Thanks for the input !

Yeah Ronnie passed away end of July. I'm not sure if his son was planning on taking over for him, or his family is selling what he already had made??

Glad to see you did the research before posting. You might want to try posting a wanted ad in the classifieds section. Maybe someone can hook you up with a good deal on one.

Contact Dirtcrasher here on the boards. Not sure if he does swing arm bolts, but he does alot of machine work. Give it a shot...

I could make one but mine would be threaded on both ends.

I'm not 100% percent sure about a 200x, but if the original bolt is 12 or 13mm, you can order a 1/2" Grade 8 bolt that's long enough from McMaster-Carr or even find one at your local Home Depot or Lowe's. Yeah, it's not metric, but it's damn close in diameter, and a hell of a lot stronger. I used one when I installed a 450r rear swing arm onto my 200m, works great.

^ No, it is an odd bolt with enlarged flat areas on it.......
A CNC shop could crank them out, but a conventional machine shop will take a bit longer.

Thank you to all for your input and ideas. I'm very surprised at the amount of support I've received, especially being my first ever post on this forum. I even had one gentlemen later on offer to just send me one. No mention of price or anything. Wow! Anyways I was contacted by "shortline10" who had exactly what I needed. I currently have a deal in the works with him on getting a replacement sent to me. Appearantly he has many parts up for sale. He was polite, knowledgeable and wasn't some kid tearing apart bikes and trying to turn a buck on a damaged part. I feel confident the bolt that is in the mail will be in good working shape.
Thanks again to you all !

If it's from shortline you can bet it will be a top notch part. He probably has the most 90-200 goodies on this site!
