Here is a video of me jumping my 1981 honda atc 250r with stock suspension. Soon to have a Works shock in the rear. Enjoy :naughty: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vO5NDCUKn_E

Looks like a painful landing every time. Put some 15wt oil in those forks.

Yeah, you need more travel for sure.

Not bad but I was expected some "BIG AIR"....... At least 5' under your frame.

IDK about the 81, but I thought 200X forks fit in the tripples on the 82. Some heavier weight oil, preload the stock front springs and a better rear shock will give you more confidence.

Or, just buy an 85/86 ATC250R :D

Not bad. That's pretty good for the bike your workin with, I have an 82 and won't be jumping it.

Damn. I wish I had seen that before giving away (practically) 3 sets of 200x forks when I have an 82 R. Oh well, just use a 350x full front end instead I guess. Hopefully there is a shock for a fella my size on these first gens.

Why would you run 30wt? That is way too heavy! Stock was ATF which is 7.5wt. I'm a bigger guy and I run 15wt in my R. Some of the guys that MX run 20wt but nothing heavier than that.
