Hi guys, I have a stock 1985 tri z here other than a DG pipe, UNI filter, and boyesen reeds. When I bought it, it had the stock 470 main jet in it. I thought that might be a bit lean with a pipe being on it so I put a 480 in it to be on the safe side. I am running amsoil @ 32:1. It runs a bit rich and seems to bobble a bit on top end (like too much fuel). My question is: does anyone with a DG pipe know what DG recommends for there pipe (jet size increased/needle clip movement) or was the stock Z jetted rich enough from the factory to run the stock main jet? I know elevation and temp play a critical role in jetting.....I'm in WI which is pretty much considered sea level in terms of jetting. I believe sea level is what most machines are jetted for from the factory.

Thanks,

Hey any luck on your quest? I have exact same set up. the reeds are questionable as to the brand but mine is blowing mad white smoke out the tail pipe and pulg is black and some what wet. roughly same jet size too.

Have you read what rich and lean is? or done a search. well maybe this might help. also just google 2 stroke jetting ATV dirtbike 3wheeler they are all the same sorry if it sounds blunt just trying to help its also a sticky here! also check your electrical if your running an origingal stator it may be time to replace it.
