my uncle has his 350x out and we decided it needs a new front tire. trying to keep it orginal, we went to the dealer in town and all that they can get is a cheng shin waffle tire. its like 2ply and doesnt look even close to right. i found another kenda tire that looks more like the tire on my 200x, but does anyone else know where to buy a decent front tire for one of these? i would really like to find hom the ohtsu 701's but im sure thats difficult.any help would be great.

Front Ohtsu's are long gone. If you found one for sale, they'd want $500 for it. Tires are slim pickn's in that size.

If you're looking for a stock "looking" tire, Dunlop made a similar tire (KT576 IIRC) that is now discontinued, but can be typically found on Ebay in used, but decent shape for less than $100 mounted on a wheel. Sometimes have to be patient since there are a lot of bald or cracked tires being sold on Ebay also; and you also have to make sure the tires don't have any dry rot starting on the sidewalls also (which is sometimes hard to see in a Ebay pic).

I haven't found any Ohtsu's (even on Ebay) for quite a while.

Your standard option is a Kenda Front Max, the Cheng Shin tire you already mentioned (which looks close to the Ohtsu on the 83-85 200X), or a couple of quad tires that come in 23x8x11 (Pathfinder, 489, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a couple others). None of those really look like OEM in my opinion.

I snagged a good quality dunlop KT576 with no rot on a great condition '86 350x wheel a few months ago when I had a 350x of my own. Ended up selling the bike, so I might be willing to sell the tire/wheel combo for the right price. PM me if interested.
