I finalized a trade yesterday through emails and textes for an old R. I will be picking this up on the 30th, as of now. This is all I have on it at the moment. I traded something that I no longer have any use for, just as he no longer had a use for the R. Runs, can be riden but he says it has no 2nd gear. So I guess this will be a complete over-haul, top and bottom and I'll go all OCD on the rest (as I always seem to do). I'm getting the trike as pictured, an extra engine that he says needs a top end and a new set of paddle tires. The trade is pending each of our in person aproval of the items. I sure I have repersented my item properly and I already plan a complete rebuild, so I believe it will go through (my item is of much more value but I don't have near what it's worth in it). Here's the phone pics I have. I know it's rough but in my area the pickens are slim and I'd rather have a fixer-upper for 2 bills and do the work myself. I figure I buy the parts for it with some of my Christmas bonus and do the work during the January/Feburary months. I'm excited and wanted to share.

I the real world, he's getting the better of the deal. His first response was "how much difference do you want", but I like trikes and that disconnects me from "the real world" sometimes, lol. I'm the hold up, he wanted me to come yesterday. I don't want to try a 10 hour round trip through the week and I don't do business on Sundays. The 30th is the next day I have that I could go. He offered to meet me closer if I wanted to do it through the week, which I could do but I'd like to get the X finished up before I bring another one home and I think I can get it finished by the 30th (if I work on it any). I've been backed up here with powder coating and haven't worked on it any in a couple weeks. I am really wanting a water cooled bike but since this came up I thought it would be OK until I find the right 85/86. I've got 3 more bought that I haven't brought home yet and I'd like to get them home before then too (they are more or less parts bikes, 2 200's that might make 1 trike and a 70 that I'll redo and give to the kid for his B-day). I spent all day Saturday cleaning up the shop and getting space dedicated to the trikes, they had just been crammed into the corner. I sold a project car that I had lost interest in and got it out of the shop and a truck load of parts. Here's a pic of the shop as of Saturday night. I got plenty of room for more trikes now!

It's left over from my gunsmithing days. I built this a few years ago for a can and and sold it, bought it back later and redid it to carry. IDK if anyone here is into this kind of thing or not. I can give a complete parts list of what's in it if anyone is interested.

Good eye, It's a Kimber slide, unmarked with the Kimber logo. I know a guy that comes up with things like that from time to time.

Double Star frame, unmarked Kimber slide, Novak low mount carry sites (front and read dovetails), Wilson Combat sear, disconnect and springs, McCormic hammer, trigger and MSH, factory Colt slide stop and ambi saftey, Brown bever tail, I forget what the grips came off of. Brownells grip screws, bushings, plug and guide rod, Springfield barrel and bushing. It's a parts gun. The only thing I can remember buying was the frame and slide. The frame had been at a friends shop forever and he talked my into buying it one day, I think I paid about 120 out the door and the slide came from a buddy who has comes up with things like that, I gave 25 for it. The rest of the parts was just stuff laying around, I still have boxes of parts. I doubt I have $200 actual cash in the gun. I worked on them for a trader I met when I was setting up at gunshows and he often gave me the parts left from up grades. I'm refinishing the gun for the guy in OD and black for the trade. I replaced the drip safety and extractor right before the pics were taken and though you can't see it in the pics, the back out the gun just has cold blue on it to keep it from rusting. It had been laying in the safe forgotten until I saw the CL listing and I pulled it out to make the offer. Here's a pic from one night when I had them all out for a yearly cleaning. I don't shoot anymore and just got burnt out on guns all together. I've even have a few NOS guns from back in the 80's left.

Wow! That guy got a great deal on the trade - that's a nice weapon even if it is a parts gun.

Nice shop, I'm jealous. I'm currently trying to get one built. Too wet for the concrete work :-( Being from Canada I am still surprised to see handguns being talked about and shown without "the man" looking in, lol. I think it's great. We definitely should be able to pack a handgun while hunting with a bow. If you hunt in the mountains you soon realize that we are not on the top of the food chain (grizzlies :-0)

He sent me the VIN last night and I tried to run it through one of the decoders but it's coming up invalid. Here's what I have jhstb0607dc214277 , could one of the "0's" be an O or something like that? Someone who knows more about Honda VIN's might notice something out of place. The guy says he pretty sure it's an 84 and I'm sure it's a 250R. I've talked to the guy allot the last several days, not just about the trike. He seems to be a really good guy, someone I'd hang out with if he lived close. I know how hard it it to get all the VIN numbers right sometimes, I'm sure it's just a mistake ID'ing one of the numbers or typo or something. Thanks for all the compliments on the shop and guns.

Well, the 30th came and went. I haven't had a response to any of my messages in over a week. I guess I was counting my chickens before they hatched so to speak. I guess I have the bike in hand before going on about one again. I know deals fall through but I really thought this one was good to go. I guess it's for the best, I would be better off waiting until I find what I really want - an 85/86 R or Tecate. I have been picking up what I can find locally, though it's just junk. I've gotten an early Big Red that someone tried to convert to a quad, a ATC200 parts bike, a China 200cc quad, a CR250 parts bike and an ATC70. I had talked to the guy who had the CR, ATC200 about buying them awhile back and left a deposit but had never had time to go back and get them. I went after them yesterday and he threw in the China quad for an extra $25. The engine is good, it had a busted axle housing was why it was scraped. The ATC200 was just part of the deal for the CR, he priced both for $50 and I needed the CR forks. The Big Red converted quad was given for a small PC job for a buddy that I work with. I would have ended up doing the PC work for free so I figured I'd take what I could get for it. And the ATC70 is for the kid, gave $100 for it but I wanted it ( I figure that's a little high ). I've got the parts ordered from HONDALUVR to get it running and I'll go from there on the cosmetics and I would like to convert it to CDI but finding limited info on the conversion. The good news it that the Komodo quad engine is good and strong, showing 150psi on the compression gauge. I don't know what I'll use the engine on but I'm sure I'll find something suitable for it. Here's some pics of the newest junk I've found.

I think they were from like a GTi anniversary edition, but I got them in trade and I'm not sure.

Nice shop and mill!!

Thanks, DC. I didn't think you could really see the mill in any of these pics. I like tools, been collecting them with each new hobby. I almost always keep the tools even after the hobby has burnt out. I do have the lift up for sale. It, the seats and a Tein EDFC is all I have left of my few years of interest in the import car thing. I still have a small collection of guns left from my smithing days, also. I have all my powder coating equipment in my other shop but I'm laying out a new booth and oven that will be built through the wall of the shop pictured and I'm looking into leasing a shipping container for a blasting room. I like to have a solid plan before I start spending money on things like that. I also have an interest in buggy's and antique tractors are big in my area. The new oven/blasting room and spray booth will be built with those markets in mind. I hope to have those things together by mid-summer but sometimes life has it's way with my deadlines and they get pushed back.

Looks like your ATC200 has a 200E 200ES front end on it. Thats a desirable set if they arent in too bad of shape. Those are fun treasures you picked up!

Good news, the 250R deal is still a go! Out of the blue today the he texted and said he had had to go to Texas for work and hadn't been about to get back to me. But said the R was mine whenever I could make neew arrangements to come and get it. He said he had even gotten it out and cleaned it up a bit to get me some better pics. He said once he gave his word it was a done deal on his end but he had a chance to make some good money going out of town and just could pass it up. Here is the pics he sent me tonight. I was really surprized that the deal fell through. I'm a pretty good judge of people and I felt he word was good. I'm back excited again! I had given up and the listing had been taken down, just figured he has sold it. As of right now we are going to try to get together on the 13th. Here's the new pics, it looks better this time.108584108585108586
I'm glad to hear from him, I had already ordered parts for it, lol.

Yea, great front wheel. I've order some parts to get it running from HONDALUVR ( pull start, front wheel/hub/axle, coil/plug wire and gas cap. I bought a set of pit bike supention forks for it that are already here and I'm looking at options for plastic. I plan to make a match to the 200x I'm doing. And have been doing some research at options for a rear suspention setup. This is it, I'm not buying anymore project stuff until I get some of these wrappped up. Unless I find a nice 125M or 110.
