A 26mm xr200 dirt bike carb works good but if you really want performance I would go with a 28mm mikuni and aftermarket intake . Powroll and web both sell good cams .

I have a few aftermarket intakes for the 200x but they have been long since discontinued since the 80's

I would go with a 32mm FCR

32mm is alot of carb for a 200x. I personally like runnin a 28mm on a highly modified motor and have ran up to a 30mm previously. I would think that a 32mm FCR would be ok if you are simply dragging, but would sacrafice alot of bottom end and midrange power.

I agree with xrider . I have tried just about every combo and always seem to go with the mikuni 28mm either the round slide for good all around power or the flatslide for a little better midrange and top end . The old 28mm keihin DG carb set up from back in the day worked great also but hard to find .

It's not hard to make the intake. It looks like he's using radiator hose for the connection.

The 28MM Mikuni I bought had been modded and had a flange to bolt right to the stock intake (86/87)

I bought a brand new Mikuni 28mm F/S but I have to turn down the front and make a flange to press on. Or make a custom intake and use hose between it.

As long as there's no air leak, it doesn't matter how you do it.

I have heard good stuff about the FCR carb but the jetting must be a nightmare..........

How does the header not melt the air filter top??

And are those oversized tank shrouds? :naughty:

The pictures are deceiving the filter is about an inch away from the pipe . Yep Maier super scoops on the red one and SRP scoops on the white one .
