Tecate rods same as KX250's?

can i use a kx250 rod in a 86 tecate? i've been looking at part numbers, but i get different listings. 86 t3 is the same as the 86 kx250, and only those years are listed as oem kawie. but i can get a kx250 aftermarket rod that fits 78-08. so that means i can use the aftermarket kx rod in the tecates.

is this as simple as it is, or am i looking to deep into this.

Have you checked the tecate parts swap thread? I seem to remember seeing something about con rods in there somewhere.

yes i read threw that thread, but i didn't get a definate answer. the last page has part numbers for the rod , but it doesn't say if i can use any kx250 rod. i'm pretty sure i can, just want a confirmation from someone else.

Some KX250 rods interchange.......I believe I used a 2005 KX250 rod, but don't quote me on that! I will look into it tommorrow and give you a definate answer if I find out!
