I would love to widen my 1986 atc 200x. I was suppose to be buying a old school durablue axle from someone on here, but have not heard back from them yet. So I am wondering, do axles from 83-85 200x fit? Also, if the 83-85 200x axle fits the 2nd gen is it and wider, or more narrow?
I was also thinking about wheel spacers or hubs from tusk that are made to widen the stance. They say these hubs fit 400ex 450r etc. I am sure they fit this axle.
Do 400ex or 450r stock hubs any wider than stock 200x hubs? If so how much wider.
Thanks in advance for any input.

you put the 85 axle in with 84 250r seals, then you use the 86 200x hubs and it sticks it out a bit more. cant remember how much more. but if you get me a measurement on your 86 axle shaft i can compare to my 85 shaft in mine now.

The GeForce extended hubs seem like the cheap way to go. They are under 100$ and 400ex ones should fit that bike.

400ex hubs are basically identical to the 86-87 200x hubs.

I search back 3yrs in the Classified section of this site and found a +4" never mounted and under $300 to boot. Don't ask, search it yourself, it's part of the joy of finding the item.

Durablue used axles accomplish this. I have no idea how long the 300EX axle is in comparrison to the 86 200X axle, but I believe you have to get the carrier and all to run it.

I have an 83/84 plus 4 on mine and 450R hubs; It's more than plenty wide.........

It's not that I have a problem searching for the part. I just wanted to know what fits what.

stock 300ex/400ex hub will add like 3 inches overall. look at pictures, they are clearly more offset and said to fit on 200x, and even 110s

Do you need to run the 250r seals with the 83-85 200x axle? And if so,why?

85 axle OD is 2mm bigger than the 86 axle OD at the seal surface. a 250r seal is the right dimensions.

no they dont. they offer .75" per side over 83-85 hubs, or 81-84 250r hubs. dont belive me, do the math cuz i have and i own them also.

honestly id rig a 300ex axle to work, the 300ex carrier is alittle wider not too much, it could be done.

or look into a swingarm with the whole deal.
