85 200X kick starter skips

So I bought this 200X a few weeks ago and it seemed to be in good shape. Now the Right side case leaks and the kick starter engages when it wants to. Seems to be skipping a tooth or something...... Anyone have any suggestions on what's up with the kick starter?

You can back cut your gears and stretch the spring for a easy fix .
