I am just wondering how rare the '87 Hinda 250SX is?? I can get one for pretty cheap. Wasn't sure if it's worth it. Also does anyone have that list of how many Honda 3 wheelers were produced?? I remember it being posted somewhere and I have searched to try and find it but I can't come up with it. Let me know. Thanks.

I have an 87 250SX that my dad bought in '93 and I've only seen maybe a dozen 87's and you don't see a ton of true 87 parts on ebay, but I doubt that the rarity of a trike like it makes it all that special. Depending on what you want it for, its a nice trike, about as advanced as 3 wheelers ever got with reverse and electric start and the indicator lights on the dash, but without liquid cooling or a 6 gear, its not going to be a screamer.

I had an '87 SX, it was basically the same as the '86.Funny how the SX was omitted/forgotten on that list! Honda sealed the rear ends on 'em in '86, cos the '85s were taking in water. They also added a heat shield to the front of the head pipe, to keep the fender from melting. There is/was also a bad cold start prob w/ the '85s. Honda made a kit for it.

I have an 87. Got it earlier this year for $450.
Heres a video of how it was when i bought it except for the handlebars. Since then i bought all new fenders, stock exhaust, uni filter, new wheels with 20" tires , and some wheel spacers.

I have a High School friend in Alberta who is going to do some checking around for me about the Mythical 87 250R. I'll let you know what he finds.

You have one what? If you are refering to the 87 250R, we have all agreed without pics we don't even want to entertain your statement. If you meant an 87SX then I apologize.

111200Yes rare indeed according to the numbers, here is one for ya and probably the rare 1987 200X on the planet. It's not in the crate but it is new new and had never been ridden. The guy bought it from a widow, she said her husband bought it in 1987 new and never rode it because of the 20/20 video and scared him. The dealership would not refund so he covered it up with a blanket in a heated garage untouched for over 20 years. The guy bought it put gas it in rode and rode it for 15 mintutes and realized this should not be ridden. There may be a thread on this somewhere, i'll look but here are some of the pictures of it that i have saved..

I think the xmas edition 83 atc 70 may be a little more rare than the 87 200x.

I think what we are refering to is the production list in this thread.ofcoarse the christmas edition 83 atc70 was low prodution wasn't thinking of that one.lol. they were meant for a limited run for each dealer anyway. The 87 200x is the most rare in mass production runs I think .I wonder how many atc 70's. Were produced?.

1983 ATC200X – 76,334
1984 ATC200X – 31,371
1985 ATC200X – 47,339
I have to wonder how accurate this list is . I have only been able to round up one decsent 83 200x but this list shows they made 76k ? The 85 model seems to pop up more than any model atc Honda ever made .I have found about 10 real nice ones and countless decent ones .I sometimes wonder if certain models were sold in higher numbers from state to state . Kawasaki sold a lot of tecates out west but I almost never see any KLT'S .Cool list though thanks for the post
