I got these about two years ago and I must say they are great! It gets really cold here and I cannot stand riding with my hands frozen. It is painful and makes for a horrible riding experience. They didn't interfere with my controls or the way I ride at all. A+ review in my opinion.

Did you have to put a HO stator in to run the heated grips? I know very little about the Tecates, but im pretty sure running heated grips on a 250r would tax the stator pretty hard if running with the lights on....

They're actually not heated. They just cover your hands. They pretty much eliminate the need for heated grips around here. It was probably in the 20's in those pics, and I do wear gloves under them, but they work great.

OH i see, at first glance i didnt notice you were using gauntlets! My fault....but yeah, Im a sledder up hjere in the Tug Hill region of NY, and i hear alot of folks who use those gauntlets are very pleased with them....

And i couldnt agree more, riding with frozen hands sucks. Its usually about the only thing that gets cold when im riding wheelers this time of year.

Those types of hand warmer/covers always worried me about what to do if you had a roll over or had to jump off your bike quickly. A friend of mine had some electric grips that he got for his 420 rancher and they had 2 setting low and high. They would get very warm and you only needed a thin pair of gloves to keep the wind off your hands and you'd be toasty all day.

I'm not sure Steve, it's been almost two years since I got them. I bet if you look on Ebay and even ask the seller you could find a black set.

We just run the exaust through the handlebars. got a fitting welded into the headpipe that leads into ball valve that leads through some sort of braided steel tubing that was laying aorund, right into the middle of the bars. did take the rubber hand grips off though. wear some light gloves, and it works great!

We use heated grips from Kimpex or Moose. Sure makes a difference in the winter. It's already a balmy 0 degrees F here as I'm typing.

I can't see where it would be an issue. I have never tried them on a thumb throttle machine but most ATV's have thumb throttles and that's what they were designed for soo....

I picked up a black set simular to fabio's today at Farm and Fleet for $16 plus tax. Plenty of room in there to operate a thumb throttle with big gloves on. Seems easy to slide gloved hands in and out. Bought em for my Big Red, but probably gonna get anther set for the X.
