I got tired of paying 5$ for unpublished number so now everyone calls me.

Yesterday I got a call and he says "Hello, would you like a free alarm system installed in your home for just a sign placed in you front yard?"

I said " I already have an alarm".

He said "what type is it?".

I said "whats that matter".

He asked "does it cover all your windows and doors".

I said" thats none of your business".

He hung up. No "well thank you for your time", nothing.

I say THIEF/SCAMMER!! What do ya think?? Anyone else getting scammed??

I think the dude drove by your house, got your name from your mailbox, and was casing the joint.

That's scary Steve, but I bet he won't bother you now. I don't even have a house phone so I don't get calls like that.

We don't answer the phone any more unless we know the number, be careful for sure!

So crazy these day's people are getting desperate for money ......

We get them...sometimes I put them on hold as long as they will wait before hanging up. I figure it stops them from harassing someone else for awhile.

Other times I answe and talk in a kids voice and say "my daddy is not home right now"

I then proceed to strike a 8 year conversation with the guy, asking if they like He Man, or pick their nose, and things that 8 year olds talk funny about.
They usually stay on the line for 10 minutes while I lmao.

I think the Stud is right.

Unfortunately, I give my number out to members too. Not everyone wants to ship you a motor based on an internet conversation; So I have to answer whatever calls I see.

I was thinking later how easy he probably could have got me talking about "his product" and how superior it is, blah blah blah. He never would have hung up like that if he were legit.

screen all calls!!! if i dont know the number, or if it comes up unlisted on the i.d., the ole answering machine takes it for me. if i know the voice or person calling, then i pick it up.

Sign up for the Do Not Call registry. MOST of the calls will stop. we used to get 30 a day at home.....now a few times a month MAYBE....

yep do the do not call website and also there is a website that i can't think of right now that will stop the crap faxes if you have a fax machine. Here at the shop i bet I get 40 faxes a month from Human Resources saying if I buy this trip for the low cost I can choose 4 other locations for free!!! Woohoo funny that I didn't even know we had a human resources dept. lol I mean with the all the employees we have here (2 of us)..anyways I get those and cheap health care BS too... Just a waste of expensive ink!!
