Tecate fender group order for the 84'/85'. Seein' iffin' we can get a list together of folks who would like them. We may be able to get two(2) colors. Green and black. More than 10 fellas have given the thumbs up, just wanted to get a more accurate number of who wants Green and who wants Black before submitting a plea to Tammy. Was thinkin' of havin' the cash in to Tammy by the last week in February? Someone suggested around income tax return time, that sound good? I expect a little rise in the price compared to the white order, but just shy of $300 shipped, will have an exact $ amount when the order gets a thumb's up. So who is interested, or, for that matter, who's in?(Black or Green?):

Was the stock fenders on TecateDan's ride cracked or broken up? That sucks if so, they looked nice in the pictures, but just looked like they needed sanded (?). The stock are so nice looking, if they are refinishable TecateDan, do it, they look way nicer (IMO) than the low-pro style.

Guys I've just changed my preference from 2 green back to 1 green set. Sorry, but I would like to keep my options open for a red set if the time comes.

Hang, weather you order direct from Maire or run it thru Mosh's (don't matter to me) ask
Jeff (production Mng.) or sales person how much (if any cost) for the Maire shipping box's.
It is always a hassle and/or costly to find correct shipping cartons for larger items.
They obviously have a few on hand at their ware house.

O.k. John I will, it was tough on the shipping party on last order. This is now more than a feeler, but waiting till' the dust settles after Christmas to pop it fully into gear. Would be the wrong time of year (so tuff and busy for many) I feel to push to hard, I'd feel bad. Lettin' the Holiday season dust settle. We have fellas in Afghanistan and Iraq, and now I fear might have some shipped to the Korean conflict, at any rate, they don't get on a computer often so they need time to respond also.

I just e-mailed Tammy at Cosmic Quads on Tuesday and Wednesday to get things rollin' TecateDan. I sent her a link to see what she thinks. End of February is the proposed deadline unless many member are having a tough go of it and we all need to extend, although I don't think we will. Was waiting on Christmas, the Sprock cool head, and the hose order dust to settle. Christmas is done, ? Sprock order- it's rolling, and the hose thing is started and in the works. Patience Grasshopper, patience my son (lol). Everybody ready to roll on this? (Like I mentioned, I'm not good at the organizational stuff & am fairly new, so just trying to help get er' rollin' fellas.)

It'll be front and back, same as the white order, and around $300. Don't how many will be ordered and how much inflation has pushed the price up, but that's the ballpark figure.

The last white order on 8-31-10 took about 6-7 weeks from time of order to at your door. I suggested purchasing the maier shipping boxes (suggested to me by jeswinehart) to maybe help with the shipping (kind of the hard part). Won't know the price untill we even figure out how many are ordered, but don't feel it'll be as low as last year. Shipping and production have both been hit by our lovely new super inflation.

I will be calling Maier Monday to get an exact price. I will see about buying boxes from them vs who I got them from last time. If they are cheaper...great. The last order I bought a pallet of boxes through a major box company. Price was good, but they didn't offer a perfect size. I had to get a larger size and cut each box down.
If Maier will sell me boxes, great..less work for me. If they are more expensive, I don't mind cutting the other boxes down to save you guys some $$.

When I get the prices, I will post all that info & box info. Stay tuned....

Hang&Rattle asked me if I would do the order for you guys, so the contact person would be me. I will be collecting the funds. DO NOT send me any money until I get all the price info and a deadline. Mr.Mosh and myself have done a number of these group orders. You can also do them through Maier, but we try to save the forum members a few dollars by going through us.

As for color. When I call Maier this coming week, I will see how many we need for a run. The normal number is 10 sets per color. But with the economy, and doing more pieces at a time, they will lower the number. The last run we did was Tecate and 250R stuff, so they were ok with a smaller order. They push for 10, but I will see if they will do 5 and 5 if you guys also want black sets (or if there is another color you guys want).

It was explained to me, that they have a schedule to keep, so to speak...example: they will run what they need of this bike one day, and then another bike another day, etc. They want a high number for these special orders so they don't have scrap wasted. They have to wait for a slow period, and switch out the molds and run our stuff. The last order didn't take as long as the order we did a few years back..probably because of the economy.

I will go back and re-read this thread ( I skimmed it). I believe you guys want green and black. I think we should seperate the lists to a green list, and black list. This will keep it a little more organized. I will go through and read & seperate the lists.

I have all the pricing info. The cost PER SET is $255 PLUS ACTUAL SHIPPING.
Those of you that order multiple sets will have combined shipping. Last time the shipping varied so much per person, it is just easier to do it this way. I will need $255 to secure your order. When the order comes in I will contact all buyers to collect their actual shipping charges.

Suggestion kasuki, order the set. Someone has to wreck and bust up their front fender (could be me, lol) sooner or later and then you can sell it and possibly make a little profit. Or throw it up on e-bay. Pretty sure you won't lose money on it, and then you will be the 5th to order and also make it a touch easier on Tammy (?). It's o.k. with what you want to do, just making a suggestion.

seeing this large order of fenders is killing me, i want a black set for my second project but i need to make sure i can get a title for it first before i start dumping any $$$ into it. Well if another order gets going at a later date could someone let me know so i can jump in on it.

And you can't lose money on these. If dumped on e-bay should net a healthy profit. Many members have several new sets now stock piled, but will not part with for nothin', so with the shipping and profit cost you'd pay way more later. Over 35 fenders will have been ordered in the last year, four different colors, and some have been claimed out of old shops and found here and there (e-bay) in other colors. And the Tecate folk have purchased hoses, Mark Thurman products, Clarke gas tanks, and now these fenders in the last few months. I got a set for the 84' being delivered across state and what if the truck is abducted by aliens? I'll still have my black fenders for and investment or as spare. May happen, but two fender orders in less than a year is alot, please get in now to help yourself out.

I just want to say that this as well as the last Tecate fender (white) order have been about the smoothest special/group orders I have ever been involved with, I mean, we cant get a five guy McDonald's drive through order to go right when we send one guy from the shop to pick it up, and with these fenders going all over the States and even halfway around the world they have gone through without as much of a snag... maybe the guy is wrong but yesterday i got an 86 Tecate . he could not find the title but has it and will call when he finds it.before you say ya hes gonna call his son just passed away and he has to go through his stuff to find it but i only payed 300 for it.if they fit i would like green front and rear.thank you

Stock 86/87 plastics are still available from Kawasaki (aside from tank & rt shroud), these fenders are for the 84/85's and will not fit the 86/87's

Just got my bran new Black fenders in today and they look great! thanks again tammy. Now i have to get going on the rest of the trike and get it finished.

I really mised out here! I got a 84 tecate and im restoreing it. Been looking for fenders and would of loved to get in on this? If some fenders are out there please let me know thanks!
