Hi I am looking to do a cr500 swap into a trike obviously. I have a 1985 cr500 running riding complete bike no trike frame yet but many are available to me. I want to put the motor into the trike frame. Was wonder what model trike best suits the swap and I've read you must replace bottom frame legs could I use the exsisting cr legs? Looking for as much info ha ha thanks.

the 85 is the best fit and looks way better. there is a lot of work you need to do to make a succesful cr500r conversion you got vibration and frame fitting.

talk to billy golightly he makes frames that a cr500r engine bolts right into. they are 85/86 250r frames. if this isnt done right the engine will tear the frame to shreds. i would just buy a frame from bill to be safe he has made many of them in the past. and all the 250r parts just bolt right on like its the normal bike no worries.

his frames are on the expensive side but its a 1 time buy if its your first time i guarentee your going to spend more money trying to get it just right.

Thats going to be hard to start because you can't use the 500 kicker

Why would it be hard to start I'm far from new to a 500. And I am simply cutting the genders so I can maintain a regular sized kick lever on it. I'm not to worried about it!

I made mine to kick forward, turned out pretty good. Taking to fenders off to start it kinda sucks, esp if your into the tighter technical stuff like me and have a cpl stall outs here and there.
