Finally have all the goodies to put my 250R together. So I pop in a new clutch and move on to the top end. Figured because it sat I should pop out the wrist pin and oil the bearing and that would make putting the new rings on easier also. This stock bore piston is in fantastic shape - must be less than 20 hours but what did I see?? One of the dam locating pins for the rings is gone??? That ring must have either stayed in place by itself or got lucky?? Not a scratch in the cylinder or piston anywhere but that pin had to go somewhere! If I never tore this down to check it it could have been a disaster! No idea how it happened but I can't use this piston - it is useless. Whats another 100$ anyway??
