i have been out on the 250r every weekend and im always going out there to get my 200x running but i always see the 250r right there and have to take it for a quick spin then a quick spin turns into a whole day. these trikes are addictive as hell. this time i finally pulled out the 200x its a 1986 for those who dont know. it didnt start so first i checked the spark and it was sparking just right and the plug is dry brown that tells the air fuel mixture is just right or was last time it had ran then the carb had a bunch of bright green rocky looking crap in it, it had to be old gas. after that was cleaned out i put the carb back on and tried kicking it over and got no start then after spraying starting fluid into the filter it fired right up and idled after sitting i gave it gas when you push the gas the bike boggs really bad and if held for too long it can die and when in gear it pulls and dont rev up past 1/3 throttle so i looked at the spark and it was dry black. then i looked at the carb and notice the insulator had a crack in it(the insulator is the rubber tubing that bolts from the carb to the cylinder) now do i need to buy a new insulator or can i fix the crack with a rubber filling or patch? i think my bike boggs because of the valve and timing so thats going to be checked and i have another question, i have heard many things about ignition or electric timing with the cdi unit, if i have good spark then can my cdi or electrical timing still be messed up? thanks for the help.
also when i kick the bike over there is a trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro load of resistance( its mostly really hard to kick over compared to other 200x's ) does anyone know why? the bike has an dg muffler and the exhaust is bolted with one bolt at this time.
