Here is the relocated radiator I just received.. It took a few months and a few e-mails.. It belonged to someone on this board at one time, I cant remember who?? But I e-mailed him asking about the kit, he said he had sold the bike, and let me know who he had sold it to, so I e-mailed the guy he had sold it too just to inquire about the kit, he didnt really give me any info about the kit. About 3 months later, he e-mailed me back, and asked If I wanted to buy it, and of course I said yes, so here it is.....

Yeah that radiator looks a little small.....Im just going to keep the huge one on the front forks....thats pretty cool though if it keeps the bike cool enough

It worked fine for me, but I never really checked the temp it was running at, but it never boiled over or anything like that.

yea, what he said. Share the love, dude. Also, you have a green one? Sometimes I wish ours were green, (no plastics available) I think an older KX with the single radiator shroud would be sweet on that, but theyare only in green, unless that shroud of yours is painted, then no big deal. Basket, if you make one for yourself, make 2 would ya? You are alot handyer than I ever will be.

if i can ever get an 85 running it would be easy to make. i have an 85 with a 86 fornt end and a 86 calfab rear end but i am still waiting on some parts to complete it. it also has the jimmy white 86 axle and dura blue hubs. i need a rear shock and strut for a 86 t3

I'll get more pics up later today.. The shroud was painted, I started taking the paint off, it was origionally yellow..

I wonder if that kit is the same or similar to the old liquid cooled kits for MX bikes back in the day. On those, you could buy (usually) an LC head that would bolt on to the finned jug, I havent seen one for a long, long time.

I think those kits might have originally been for converting air-cooled 250Rs to liquid after the liquid cooled KXTs came out in '83.

Might help in your search.

I've got an 83 KX125 Radiator I may put on mine. It's looks like a somewhat bigger radiator than that kit one. Longer and narrower but allot thicker. Just have to figure out what shroud I could use. The one sided radiator KX125s (89 & Lower) have the radiator on the left side. Thats where the pipe is on the 84/85 KXT. So it would need to be mounted on the other side and that eliminates the use of the stock KX125 Shroud.

I would mount the KX 125 radiator as normal and not sideways like the kit radiator is. On the kit, the shroud has to pull air in and force it sideways over the radiator. If something ever happens to the shroud you lose allot of airflow through the all ready smaller radiator. :-D

Finally got new pics, I took the plastic off so you can gat a better idea of what the radiator is from, and to get a better view of the brackets...

I'm in need of advice, I just bought a sleeved cylinder, which I'm told wont cool as fast as the origional plated cylinder.
So, my question is do you think this small radiator will cool the motor sufficiently? Or will I have an overheating problem?

If you need more pics of the kit let me know..

Thanks,

Sean

Awesome T3 ya got sean...

I think the smaller radiator will cool the bike enough as long as you keep it clean of mud and other debris. The airflow won't be like it was on the front though. Good luck ;)

Hey sean are those 86 front forks or does an 86 front fender just bolt on?

Entire front end is from an 86...
