Is anybody using these on their trikes??

My friend bought a pair of them for his DRZ (decided that he didn't need blinkers), and they are amazingly bright, so I was thinking of getting a pair for my 200X. Can the 200X even handle these ontop of the headlight, or would it be best to use just the LED's? Worst case scenario, I power them from their own power source.
They can handle up to 50 volts of input, which makes me wonder if they get WAY brighter than my friend showed me off of a 12v battery. :wondering

it says they pull less than one amp so you shouldnt be putting to much extra load on it. the most voltage youll get out of your stator without going through some kind of amp though is probably only around 14.5 TOPS and it wont stay there.
You have to run a battery with any of the Vision X LED lights. The under-voltage will kill the LED. How do I know this? Well I tried them on my Banshee with DC conversion and the LED lights died on me. I found out I have to use a battery to keep the voltage up at least 9VDC.

What if I used a regulator to keep a steady 12V? A buddy suggested that I can do that.

you might be able to get by with that. if its a regulated transformer it should take any voltage low or high and make one voltage. i think the easiest way would be with a capacitor or two in parallel. the easiest of course would be with the battery like said before but cheapest i think would be the capacitors.

Does anyone know where I could get a good regulator? I was thinking of wiring up a set of these on my 200X, and on my T3.

TO RUN A BATTERY YOU HAVE TO CONVERT TO DC power. the stator is ac power,, you will need a rectifier too . i was just on their website.. the 6" setup is $1300 ????? hell in todays market i can buy 2 250r's for that.........

Looks like running a set of lipo packs in parallel will have to do... Don't feel like pulling the engine apart..
Kasey is right. You must covert to DC first for the LED lights. Then you will need a battery to keep the voltage up at idle. The voltage regulator will not work at idle as the voltage will drop lower than the voltage regulator can handle. A cap will work for a short time but then when the cap runs out of juice at idle too long then you are screwed again with too low of voltage. Vision X lights cost too much money to use without a proper DC conversion and battery setup.
