Well thanks to Honda Harry and Jeswinehart helping me with some parts I was able to get my tecate back together after selling off my cal fab and finishline stuff. I put stock parts back on and went to the desert. I was very pleased with my tecate this whole trip. it was kinda a shakedown run but overall everything worked great. I am glad I went with the pvl ignition! It started right up when warm, rode well and is super fast. Much quicker than my 86Rs. I think this is gona be a good reliable desert bike for me. I need to lower the gearing a bit for technical rocky hills, I need to replace or repair the leaky petcock and I need a shift lever that isn't bent to hell. I am really impressed witht he tecate. I'm surprised more guys don't have them out here. It also sits higher and for me which works great. I'll post some pics as soon as I get my seat cover(hopefully today) It's pretty ugly without it(I used duct tape over stock foam). Thanks for the help with the parts guys:) It'll be at the rasor road rally in jan.

A sport trikes a sport trike, the Tecate may be quicker, but overall comfort on long rides, handleing? I want to get an 82' or 85' R, just wanted your opinion Razorroad250r if the major top dog race trikes are really that much different. If not, still want an 82' R because I like the way they look, lol.

For all around handling and performance you won't beat an 85-86R. However, I like the way the 84-85 Tecate feels. The power is more explosive. It hits harder and pulls longer and stronger than my Hondas did even when built a bit. I also like the way it sits. it is taller than a 86R and I like that for my height and for desert riding. The big baloon front tire is actually pretty comfy for trail fiding and I kinda like it over the stiffer more modern front tire on a 86R. The big draw for me on the tecate is none of my buddies out here have one so it's kinda nice to have the only green one. I'm on a mission to prove this thing can be a great desert trike and run with the big dog 250R's. The 82R is cool. I haven't spent a lot of time on one but I would think a liquid cooled bike might have an advantage in several areas but who knows. For trail riding at a decent pace for me I like the handling of the tecate better than the Honda. I didn't think I would.
Hope that helps.
