:mad::mad::mad:
Someone broke into my shop where my 3 wheelers are stored behind the house. My '84 ATC 70 110cc e-start Lifan motor project was molested. They stole the Lifan motor/carb/filter/ATC 70 Lifan conversion intake/thumb throttle and Sterdy 'over' exhaust. They left the trike sitting in my back yard by the fence with just the rolling frame/pro taper bars, of course with the right grip cut off to jack the thumb throttle. They didn't even take everything necessary to make the motor work. They left all the electrics and the kick-start lever. All that stuff was sitting right by the trike. I'm so pissed off. Over $500 worth of stuff just gone. They also stole a motor off a weed eater. WTF?

Make that close to $1,000. I just looked up receipts. $419 for the motor shipped, $180+ shipping for the Sterdy exhaust, $90 misc parts such as thumb throttle, start/kill switch, carb/gasket/intake, $307 to replace the Tri-Z plastics w/ shipping.

I feel your pain, last weekend someone stole my wifes 400ex and about a year ago my Scrambler was stolen from my brother-in-laws house. Im sure i'll never see either one again.

Sorry for your loss! Is anything insured? If it is I'm sure they stole a lot more stuff...right, like your Honda 3000 generator:twisted:

We pay and pay and pay some more to these insurance companies? Just a thought.

They knew you, they knew where to go and what to grab. Of course they forgot a few things, they were thieving!!

Look real close at your friends that knew you had the stuff and anyone they brought over.....

I got a 1 year old YZ 125 stolen when I was a kid. Bike was super pimped out too. Scumbag friend of a friend stole it. Had several people admit to me personally that said scumbag stole it, they saw it etc. I met people later on in life who told me they rode it, and it was spray bombed black and hidden in the woods etc. Never got it back, never got a penny from it, and cops did nothing to the loser who stole it. The theif got caught on 2 stolen quads (a neighbor of mine who got ripped off) about 2 weeks after my dirtbike got stolen. Still pisses me off to this day.

I'm bettin' on this too. they knew right were to go and what to grab.

Keep your mouth shut but play detective. I'll bet you find out who took the goods.
Hopefully you get your stuff back...if not...hopefully you find out who took it and give them a COMPLETE AZZ KICKING!!

Last week and a half ago or so, the power company contracted a company to trim tree limbs in the alleys that were close to power lines. These limbs obviously would fall in the back yard. They were cutting them way short. Anyway, they had a crew of about 3 guys cleaning up the dropped limbs in the back yard last week after they got done. The shop has a small overhead door leading to the back yard with several glass windows all the way down. You can see in the shop. I think it was one or more of these guys that did it. I left town Thursday for Thanksgiving at my mother's house, and the trike/motor were still in the shop. I got back Sunday and didn't go out in back until right before I made the post when I noticed it. I don't have any friends who have friends that would do this or even know this stuff was back here. I'm certain it was the tree trimming guys. The timing works out too right. I'm still so pissed about this whole deal. I go to take the trash out the back gate and find the gate handle bent to trailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro, look over at the shop, see the door cracked open, and look to the left and see my ATC 70 frame without its motor sitting by the fence. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu .

Rig your shop with a gagillion decibel alarm on EVERY enterance point. Crack a window open...jimmy the door slightly ajar and WHAM! Deaf and dumbfounded right on the spot.

Thieves, when caught, should have their hand chopped off medieval style.

It sounds like they may have known that you would be out of town. I think a regular thief who did not know when you would be home, would have taken the whole bike and dissasembled it later. Not took the time to do it there imo.

Take a stroll by the tree Company on a warm early morning. I'd see if I could see inside, otherwise I'd follow the workers home (1@ a time), or wait till start time when the doors open at the business.........

This is why I never leave trikes outdoors/exposed and tell everyone that sees them that they are death traps and really cheap to buy. I downplay it as much as possible. I'm all alarmed up anyhow, the shop is a panic zone and my neighbor works for Homeland Security..........
