I would JB Weld it.

Wait a minute, is that thing plastic?

there aluminum. they came with some kind of tape on them. you could just buy the emblem so they must stick on with something sticky!

i would use the double adhesive tape.. it shouldnt take much to hold it on, and you may want to remove it one piece someday if you happen to lunch the cylinder...

I'd use rubber cement.

Clean both the cylinder & the emblem good with lacquer thinner. Brush on a thin film of rubber cement to the cylinder, and let it dry so that it's dry to the touch. Do the same to the backside of the emblem. Carefully place the emblem onto the cylinder, but make sure it's straight because you only have one shot at it to get it right. Once the rubber cement on the cylinder & the emblem touch each other, they're pretty much stuck. When you're happy with the placement, press the emblem onto the cylinder to bond the rubber cement to one another. Any excess rubber cement around the emblem can easily be cleaned off by rubbing it with your finger, or using a rag with a little bit of lacquer thinner on it. If it's crooked and you need to remove it, soak a small paint brush in lacquer thinner, and work the bristles up underneath the emblem. It should last for many years.

I've used this same technique to replace the DG emblems on a few silencers, and it works great.

I am leaning towards Seals All glue, water-oil-gas resistant (WOG) and fairly high temp heat resistant. A small tube is under 3 dollars. Same glue I use for re-gluing magnets back onto fly wheels.
Keep us posted Shawn. I have a brand new one coming next week that I swapped parts for to look at for reproduction purposes.

we use alot of strip n stick at work for high heat things. see if they have somthing...if not JB weld it on...it wont come off easy but when it does it will all come off clean at once. just make sure engine is warm when u do it, not hot. just warm it will cure is about 5mins then...used it alot on my sportbikes with leaky bottom end gaskets.

So far so good on the JB weld. I used five small drops- one in each corner and one in the center. I put it on my painted cylinder so it will probably come off if/when I need it to, hopefully without bending it. (they are so soft of aluminum)

Is the area that the emblem, badge, what ever you want to call it, the KIPS thing, is the area that it mounts against perfectly flat or slightly curved ???

Perfect, thank you Shawn. I think the oem one I have coming has a slight arch to it and needed to know before i cast my mold. i will make sure the pattern piece (the oem one) is flat as a pancake before casting.
How did your adhesive work out ???

it stuck, but i haven't rode the trike yet. should take it out this sat. want to see how it holds up to heat. should work fine, as the temp sticks use 3m tape to stay on. i've had one of those on my lt500 for 3 years now.

used 3m double sided tape. works good. tried a piece on some aluminum, couldn't pull it off, had to use a razor blade.

heres a pic of my repro kips badge on my cylinder.
