Love the aluminum rims on my 85'. They are light & good lookin'. But I thought it was just a lump of grass, rock, big rock. I was going way to fast though a field and couldn't see the rock wrapped in grass. It bent my right rear and was pretty lucky to get it back on 3. I have an ITP that could be put on the front, but it's metal & a differnt color gray. It gets powdercoated with the gold ones to go on the 84' anyhow. The manual didn't tell me what my offset is, or bolt pattern size. If I order 3 new ITP's are they as light? As strong? I really don't know what I'm doin' here. I want the same as my stock Tecate rims. And the ITP are polished, to shiny, but as long as they are close to the stock ones in preformance and design I can deal with that. Help-
How big of bend did it put in the rim...??? most the time a Precision hit with a hammer will Straighten them out just fine.

I used to know the offset off the top of my head, I think they're 3.5 x 5 or something like that? It's some weirdo size that really wouldn't matter on the rears, but it does on the front.

Agreed, depending on how bad the bend is you can usually get it close enough to seal with a mallet or a hammer. The ITP aluminum wheels will be lighter or stronger depending on the thickness of the aluminum wheels you get. The bolt pattern is 4/156, you can use 86-87 Tecate rear wheels or Tecate-4 wheels (I think), or Mojave wheels.
Here is a guide to help you to find wheels from other models.

Thank you. I'll try the rubber mallot, what do I have to lose, & I still have 2 good rims for the front if I have to go with ITP's. 4/156, thank you dcreel, if I call in, they should be able to match that #. I was just real impressed with the light rims and the color on there, frickin' rocks, lol! And I really don't know how bad, I would guess 4" of the inner bead is flattened, the tire is holding air as far as I know. Thanks guys.

Rubber mallet won't do anything but bounce back and shin you.. :-) I use a short heavy mallet, shorter than a hammer handle. It doesn't take much to tap it back to round.. or octagonal as it were..

Right on that's encouraging, that $115 can go to quite a bit of other stuff. & I like that alum. color on the stockers, they just plain go with the machine.

unless you're hung up on bling... just buy one good condition used oem wheel... and fabio is correct the stock offset is 3.5/5.. every aftermarket wheel i've seen requires a spacer to center it in the forks

Really, thanks guys, pointed in the right direction. I now know what I can use for the back and still will have 2 alum. for the front is all fails. And ya, the itp rim I have works on the front and won't matter if it's heavier, with the power a Tecate has (and how light I am), so thanks for the knowledge to rest my mind.
