350x carb on 250sx questions

So I don’t really want to deal with my 250sx carb, so I have decided to throw on a 350x carb on my 250sx From what I have read, the 350x carb should give the 250sx some increased power. I have the 350x carb. My question is, should I run the stock 350x jets or the stock 250sx jets in the 350x carb?

I ran the 350x carb in the 250sx tonight for a little while, and it seemed like it was running rich. There was some black smoke coming out of the exhaust. I have yet to really tune the carb so hopefully that will change tomorrow.

As far as i know, the 250sx should be stock. Stock exhaust, closed airbox, no motor mods.

I found a thread on it, but I would like to see if anyone else has done this mod since 2004 and have seen different results.

I put a 350x carb on my 250sx, only thing about mine is theres a cobra muffler on it, not full exhaust, not sure how much of a difference it would make but i left all the jets stock size and setting, the only thing i did was move the needle clip up to the highest groove, helped a lot and haven't had an issue since then, hope it helps
