View Full Version : My Journey for the Magical X

It all started about a year ago when I rode a second gen 200X that belonged to a friend of mine. I fell in love with it. Not long after he trashed it. Dang. So I decide I'll keep my eyes open for a halfway decent X, and don't expect to find one. So after constantly looking around on Craigslist, checking localy, everything, I finaly stumbled across one.

A few days ago I was perusing through one of the local craigslist pages when I stumbled on something just labeled "Old honda three wheeler 86". I start thinking it's just gonna be another 200M/S/ES whatever(which there are a pethora of around here, trust me on that), boy was I wrong.
Turns out it is an 86 200X in really good shape, brand spanking new Maier fenders(white of course), 400ex wheels and tires, that has a bad rear hub(bummer, but if nobody on here has one ebay does), comes with the old wheels and tires, and plastics, perfect tank(white), shrouds and all(red), the rear wheels are goldish silver(400ex), nice, nice bike. Doesn't say how much he's wanting for it, just lists a phone number.
Turns out he's asking $575 OBO. My. Lucky. Freaking. Day. So I would have to get rid of my 200es to get it, he is ok with a trade, but prefers cash, so my best friend offers to buy my red for $300 (I'd be taking a big loss, but I'm willing to do that for him), give the guy that cash, and see if he will take it. He agrees. So if my best friend can come up with the cash I will meet the guy saturday to get it. If I can figure out the upload system I'll post a pic.

By the way, does anyone have any rear hubs(left or right) for an 86 200x spare they are willing to part with?

It'll be the first manual trike I've ever owned. I've not even rode a manual since the old one a year ago, it'll be a new experiance.

Thats sounds like a great deal to me! I love my 84 200x but wish i had a 86-87. The clutch doesnt take long to get used to and i like it alot better than the auto clutch.

I love my 2nd gen 200x! It is the best trike I have owned so far when it comes to the sport class. If it has a good tank your in luck bescause the hardest part to find is a good tank! It seems easier to win the lottereny than to find a decent tank with no rust holes. Check that tank inside an out reguardless of what the owner says.

Obijuan: What would you take for a left hub?

I BROUGHT HER HOME WEDNSDAY!!! Rough, and barely running. But now I have her propped on a Trail Pro, no rear wheels, and starting and running every second kick. i think I've found some 300ex hubs for her though. Pics to come later.
