Hey guys this is only my 2nd post on here, but Im looking for advice/help. I bought a 1982 250R that had some carb issues, but the price was $300 and it was in pretty good shape (most here are ~$500 without an engine). It would fire up, sounded great for a few seconds then it died. My dad and I determined it was flooding and the float was probably damaged. Took it to a shop and the float had gas in it and was stuck down, but I guess the carb and/or float arent being made anymore and they didnt know what to do. I then took it to a Honda shop to see what they knew, they said it wasnt being made anymore either but that Muniki(?) had carb that would work for it for $175. I checked around local junk yards for the carb but no one had any so I broke down to buy the new one. Got it home and it doesnt fit...its a lot bigger than the original and the ends (terminology lacking sorry) are too big for the air box(terminology again ha) or the piece coming out of the engine. Honda shop said they'd have to call Sudco Tuesday to find out what the deal is.

Summary:
I need the float for the carb or a new stock carb. Anyone have a place to get one? If not then what has been done to replace the stock one? Just new carb with new air filter pieces?

Thanks ahead of time for reading through my wall of text.

manbearpig..

You should make an ad in the classifieds to sell your parts instead of dredging up a bunch of old posts to peddle your wares..
