1984 honda 200es

hello i have a 1984 honda 200es shaft drive ive had this problem before but cant figure it out ive checked the timing its not 180 % out on the pulse generator when its ready to fire it will make a bad snap like its firing at the wrong time i just dont no what it is any help would be great thanks

Hey man , I'm having sort of the same problem. When I accelerate high my trike bogs out , i'm thinking timing , if anyone has an idea , please give feedback asap! I'm dying without her.

mine ended up being a bad cdi box chances are if your is running its not timing did you try clean the carb make sure your main jet is not dirty mine wouldnt even start at all it was firing way to early

Although , it's running too good to have something wrong with the carb. It's just on high acceleration , it bogs out.

Are you sure the rotor is timed with mechanical advancer? I had my rotor to advancer on backward once and it was firing 180 out. I didnt have the corner dots on each part lined up. Realized my mistake after a few pulls. I took mine off to clean it up and lube it. I have also had a coil go bad on my g/f's other trike causing hard start issues. So I swapped the coil from mine to the hers and it ran great. New coil on its way for hers!
