I'm sticking the trans back in the cases, and when i turn the main shaft i only get about half a turn and it locks up. I have put in in first, closed the cases, tried, and same thing. Put it in sixth, same thing. I have double, tripple check all the thrust washer and made sure the tranny was assyembled correctly. Using the manual. Any of you guys got any ideas? I'm done for tonight, it's dark out.
thanks

Unless all you forks/shafts are in, they all bind up until in a specific gear. Halfway engagement can be the issue and the shift drum locates that.
You have to spin them and spin them while shifting............

I closed the cases back up, and put the shift cam(star thingy) back on so i would know i was enguaged completely in a gear. And i tried to shift, but it was really hard to turn. I couldn't get a grip on the star. So you think it's not a big deal? Just wanted to check.
Thanks DC

Try turning the shaft that the clutch sits on, while at the same time turning the star. It should click into gear. You could also try turning the shaft the sprocket sits on, while turning the star piece, and that may work. One way or another, it should shift with these methods if everything inside is indeed correct. Good luck!

I guess i'll dissassemble and reassyemble the gears. I've tried those two things. That was how i did it the last time. So i'd left to believe something has to be wrong.
