electric start not working on 1985 250es

I changed the starter relay and the starter and still not getting power to the starter. the relay only was power on one terminal even when i press the start button. any ideas on what is the problem.

did you try to jump the solenoid to rule out the starter being bad? this happend to me on my 85 sx and turned out it was the keyswitch. do you have power to the key? do the lights work?

i just changed the key switch and yes the solenoid is good and the lights work. can it be one of the cables

does it matter the location of the cables coming from the battery and the one going to the starter on the solenoid

i found the problem it was the start button
