Saw a glimpse of a red Tecate in the background on a Craigslist ad for a Quadracer, so I gave the guy a call and turns out he has (well now it would be had) two, one rider and one described as a project...
Turned out pretty good, the Tecate motor was froze up (but came along with it) and it has a KDX200 motor sitting in it with a pipe fabbed to fit, also has an extended durablue (I believe its a +5 but Ill measure it when I pull it out tomorrow to make sure) and a nice pair of 8" rears, forks are pristine and have good dampering, I'll figure out the rest of it tomorrow and get some pictures up (too dark now)
Anyway, looks like I just found a use for my aluminium short track tank and my +2 Westcoast:D

I'd like to see the kdx motor and how it's mounted. Alway been curious about different Tecate motor options. If it runs with the 200, I want to see, hear, and know what it feels like, very interesting Huff.

Hey can you post some pics of the short track tank on the bare frame(without the seat and rear fenders). I saw a tank like that on ebay(possibly the same one), but I thought the seller mislisted it as being a tecate tank because I have never seen the front mount on top, until this picture that you had just posted. How many gallons or liters does it hold? Nice tecate by the way.

Could be the same one, I picked it up a few months ago (memory may be off a little), same guy listed a calfab swinger, extended axle, pipe and a cylinder everything looked "Team Green" ligit but I could never get him to send pics of the complete trike...

Yea that's it, I remember that there was one bare aluminum tank on ebay first and then after that one sold then this green one came up a week after. I think that was a team green deal or some vintage race bike, but who knows if the trike was parted a long time ago or if he just had those parts off a bike. Regardless, all the parts were used well and the combination of parts was rare.
Anyway, I'd like to see how the tank mounts and the underside of it.

Thanks Huffie, lotsa good stuff there. That tank rocks, man, good shape. That pipe too close to the frame's down tube. Trying to find a motor to downgrade a Tecate for my son. The 250 is just too much for him. And with all the rollers poppin' up seein' what would fit. Still, you got a clean start for sure on your next build. Thanks for posting for us.

it would be less work to detune a 250.. plus you can tune it back up later on as he grows into it.. but putting a little motor in there would be a cool project.. air cooled kdx 200 would be my choice.
