pic. it is a cal fab. from all the info i can gatehr dura blue used to make one.
Nice pipe on the tecate. Yea i know I will have to have one made but I thought with all the old racing tecates around someone would want to sell one of the old swingarms. Where can I have one done, or made I can just buy a good used stock one and have it extended.
Where did you get the pipe?
thanks

i made the pipe  it is for sale if anyone is interested. i dont have a price in mind so i may list it on ebay.
If you made the pipe? What did it come off of? Or did you make from scratch? Does it help your performance, or just for looks?

Hey BP, You will need to get in line behind Jeb and Me if you are looking for a Cal-Fab swingarm......
Curtis.

Yeah! Thats right! Still pisses me off that 200Xbasket just basically tripped over TWO of them. (just kidding Chris!, they were great finds. :-D )
Curtis really shook the trees looking for a CalFab, even talking personally with ex factory riders. at least he's got a dura blue swingarm. I had two plus 2" West Coasts for 84/85 KXT and like a fool I sold both of them last year. One was brand new, never used. thank goodness I have a +2 West Coast on my Tri-Z to ease the pain.... :D
Yea I guess i will have to stand in line waiting for a swingarm. I know someone has one laying around somewhere. It would be nice to have, to keep the front end on the ground, when you do fast dead stop take offs.
Im thinking of buying a stock swingarm and having someone extending it for me. I think this is the way to go. Im going to get it extended 2-3". But i still want to mantain all the brackets to hook everything up.
So I think it I will start the search for a stock swingarm.
Thanks

i would call a few manufactures and compare the price of extending a stock swinger vs the price of a custom. the cal fab on mine is +2" and i still pull the front through 3rd gear. i do have some mods but nothing to big. i whish i had a 3 or maybe a 4" swinger
39mm carb & open element
kx had gasket
2001 kx reed cage with boyesen reeds
1 tooth bigger front sprocket and 1 tooth smaller in the rear
pro circuit pipe and fmf power core silencer
lighter rear axle
Yea I spoke to a guy at a weld shop and he said he thinks he can weld an extendtion on for about $100.00. The problem lies on where to make the extention so everything still fits and lines up. But he said he thinks we can figure it out. Im going at least 3", it may not keep the front end down, but it should help. I have my 350x extended 5" and it keeps it on the ground. I made it that long for hill climbing and it works pretty well. But with the Tecate Im not going that long.
