I sized the motor in my 85 R and doing a full restro on my 86, the 86 motor is good and just needs a top end. the 85 motor was a ice racer all its life and I really question whats been messed with and couldn't ever get it to run right no matter what I did for plug gaps and jetting it always kinda broke up after 3/4 throttle and spit and sputtered. I want to send my 85 motor out and have the whole thing gone thru put a 200 watt stator and new Honda crank in it and I'm still undecided on returning my 310 ESR PV and getting a 350pv since I haven't used it yet. I want it build with no regrets that I wished I went bigger. The question is is every thing as far as electrical unplug and plug in to switch between the 2 years? I no the the CDI is different plug.
