Is a 1985 honda 200S a 4 valve head ?
Might go with a 1985 200XR cam.
Can I use the stock timing chain on the 200S ?
Thanks in advance for your input.

A 200s stock cam.... is a low end torque cam! Next inline is the 200x cam with little more power to the mid to top end. Then the Ebay Cam More mid range with Top end. ( I believe this is like the Stage on Web Cam 55-521. Has the same lift and duration specs.
The XR200 cam moves the power band to the right. (still a bit more then stock from what I read.) Lossing some bottom end.
I have a 84 200s that I have done a cam swap on it and piston upgrade over stock. I did the Bikerchick cam from Ebay and stock 200x piston upgrade. I like it, but it had a issue that I had to deal with. The cam pin was in the wrong location from stock. I found a fix.... but it isnt for the faint of heart. I have a thread on it.
But I have done a few other things while I had my top end apart ,so it isnt a super fair comparison to my other atc 200. Both have all the same mods, less cam and piston and my 200s pulls much harder and stronger every where! It pulls stronger then the 82 in every gear! It is something you can see and feel! But both the cam and piston helped out in this area. I listed my mods below!
1984 200s----------------------------- 1982 200
"ebay" cam**------------------------ stock 200 cam
200x piston 9.6:1 ** -------------- stock piston 7.8:1
DG RCM exhaust -------------------- Cobra Exhaust
Ported/polished head---------------- Ported/polished head
(Same gearing on both 11/47) Tire size is different!
I run a (#105 main jet)1984----------- to a------------- ( #102 ) on the 1982 both are stock carbs with Uni air filters!
needle jet #3 groove -------------------------- needle jet #3 groove
As you can see the 84 200 needs more fuel... and I may go to #108 main jet then the 200s due to my AFR's being closer to where I want it....Still ine tuning it when I can play with it.
The stock carb ran a #100 main jet. So if you get a cam or any other mods, you will need to make jetting and needle groove changes to make it all work as a complete system!
