i was wondering if any one here has made a IRS trike it seems like a good idea if you ever hit a rock with one back tire at high speed and what would be a good quad to start with?:wondering:

I've never heard of anyone doing that, I don't think you really could and it have a resemblance of a trike rearend, being a straight axle. It would be cool though.

Honda Rincon trike conversion would be cool, the ultimate utility trike

i wish they made one before 87 because im realy starting to get tired of bouncing side to side on rocky trails it would be cool to be able to lean it over in corners a little like a dirtbike maby then it would be stable enuogh to shut them god damb lawers up

It would be a complete DEATH TRAP! think of that in any corner at any speed above 15mph! The whole thing would pitch so badly because there is no second wheel up front to help keep it flat. The outside rear would compress and the whole body would lean to the outside of the corner and the front tire would lean over the opposite direction too. Would be the most horrible thing ever created. And people think trikes r dangerous the way they r now.....HA! seriously think about it.

thats why you lean into a corner even a hard tail will flip at 15 mph if you sit flat on the seat

Yes it would be good in a straight line but that's it. Love to c someone try to powerslide around a sweeping corner. Lol. Would be funny to watch them end up in the "rhubarb!"

I hate to say it but I agree, and IRS system not specificaly designed for a trike, have somekind of compensation for only having a single front wheel(without adding another of coursse), would be a deathtrap in the making..
Now slap it to my possible 450X.......

i used to have a vintage rc truck with wired thing that hoked up to the steering servo that pumped oil into the outside shocks in a corner if someone could make a big one and specilal shocks it should work

With positive traction it would kill you the first time you turned a corner. It would not work unless it had some type of open differential and what fun would that be.

I would say an old Suzuki lt quad, with locking diff and IRS would be a good candidate. But I think I'll stick to the solid axle until I see it work first.

A friend of mine has a Cam Am Spyder, it has the largest motor you can get in it, he told me it handles like its on rails. I'm thinking something like this but it just doesn't look right http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u104/beets442/thumbnailCA0IGWRP.jpg

I had an alsport, (trisport) back in the 80's and it handled good at high speed, but its 6 feet wide and your sitting about 8 inches off of the ground.
