Yamaha, San Manuel, and SX sponsorship.

Someone please shed some light on the San Manuel Indians tribe and the Yamaha sponsorship.

My wife is a native american. Her tribe, like many others, has casinos and all sorts of money making business ventures that they do.

What possible financial gain does the San Manuel tribe get from sponsoring a race team? Are they trying to get more people to go to their casinos or something?

Nothing adds up to me when I think about this joint venture.

high-end sponsors like that make all kinds of money......their team wins races, they make money. How else do you thing companies like red bull and monster got so huge? Sure dont get all that dough selling energy drinks, thats for sure.

companies wouldnt get into racing like that if it wasnt profitable.

not to mention, you generate fans, which buy your merchandise, with your name on it.....free, walking advertising that the advertisers PAY YOU to advertise your product/company.

When Bubba started winning for San Manuel, I decided to look into it. Before that I had never even heard of the San Manuel Indian Tribe. I'm only 1 person that looked into what they are, imagine the global numbers of people looking into it. Seems like a real smart idea to me. Not to mention he is the first african american supercross/motocross champion ever.

Let me explain a little more clearly. I'm a 41 yr old man that makes his living off of running a private business. Advertising 101 is already understood. I know why people spend money to advertise with a race team. That kinda falls under the "duh" category. (not trying to sound like a smart trailprotrailprotrailprotrailprotrailpro)

What does that San Manuel tribe have to gain financially from this partnership? That's the part that doesn't make sense to me. Do they operate casinos? Do they run motorcycle dealerships on the west coast or something? What do they have their hands in that they want to bring people to?

If the answer is casinos then that doesn't make sense to me either. But hey, to each their own.

I Honestly thought they were Developers, and a Community Driven Social Health Network. Why MotorCross? Joe Gibbs might know, or even Team22 could shed some light on this. I kinda wonder the relationship myself but never cared to look into it. I guess exposier, a winning program, National CBS broadcasts with one of the Top riders to ever grace this sport...someone better not tell them there wasting their money cause obviously non of us know. As far as the SUGAR water Co.'s making triple rate just on product. Thanks for your support: NOTE none of the top riders are drinking your product on the podium...(shhh H2O dummy bottles). As fans we drink it by the truckload for the hipe and image of it all.

They are paying for advertising with their sponsorship/partnership. Driving interest about their tribe and Casino world wide. Sponsor a world class motocross rider and you get television advertising, zillions of print advertising (How many motocross rags are there here in the states and elsewhere?) In person advertising from the race spectators, traveling billboards on the factory semi rigs, etc. Its just a more comprehensive advertising "package" I think.
