110 only runs "good" with choke on, has no power whatsoever in the low end, and little on the topend. Does not idle, carb idle adjustment does nothing, tried moving the clip up and down on then eedle, carb was cleaned TWICE, heats up pretty toasty with only a couple minutes of riding up and down my street. Runs the same with 2 different sets of points, and coils.

I am thinking 2 things:

1. Air leak coming from somewhere on the intake.

2. Really rich jetting- spark plug is not black though.

Anyone else thinking the same?

If its was your 2nd pick then the choke would only make it worse by causing it to run even richer, plus you say the plug looks fine

I would rule out #2 and start looking toward #1. Possibly there is a air leak or the carb is just set to lean.

I still haven't discovered an air leak. I sealed up all of the mating surfaces on the carb/engine with this liquid gasket stuff and it still runs the same, although after discovering a recently clogged jet, it runs considerably better on the top end... Still does not idle, but it does run off choke now...

Also, when the RPMs are low, it sounds almost like there is excess friction when trying to rev up, and it takes a second to, even when throttle is applied slowly... HOWEVER when not running, it cranks over like normal.

Man these 3 wheelers is driven me crazay... And the neighbor isn't helping the situation either....

buy one of those dr atv carbs on ebay for $49 best money you will spend i will never rebuild a carb again! just bolt on and go... dont buy the cheaper one on ebay make sure it says oem std in the listing, then theres no jettting or cobbling

It's the frame. Needs replaced. I have a slightly used 125m frame available for a low down payment (lol, I am so funny, lol).

I have a carb on my CT 70 that does the same thing. I've messed with this thing on and off for several months. Finally got a diff carb that I know works good and going to try that too eliminate some probs.

Filled with 10w-30 to the top of the fill line. I've always had success cleaning carbs- always notice the engine runs better afterwards.

But it IS a cheapie $20 fleabay special...... I'm just tired of having to constantly dump $ into this stuff.....

well theres the problem the $20 carb is a POS universal pitbike carb thats jetted for a 70-90cc engine! you have to up jet it to make it run right they just claim it fits 110cc in the ad but if you read it says may need "tuning" or something stupid, thats why it runs better on choke its getting more fuel,, buy the $49 oem std carb that one ive used a lot bolt on and go with a 110

I have the same problem with a 125 engine. I would definatly double check your timing if i were you. not the ignition timing, but the mechanical timing.

Im not going to be pulling this engine apart. i already have 3 of these fricken 110 engines that dont run or work well, this one included! i bought it so that i could ride the damn thing.

as for the carb, it worked perfectly fine with 2 previous 110 engines that both ran like a dream, and id guess it has less than 6 hours on it. was advertized for 110 to 125 engines.............
