I picked up a 250SX and I want to replace a few things. My first question is this, how do can I identify the forks that are on my bike. I know they are not original because they have disc brakes. I remember my old 200X had the disc on the right side and this one has it on the left. Also is there any online resource on how to rebuild the forks and the rear shock? Thanks for any info, I will post up pics soon.

Youtube probably has some good videos to rebuild forks and shocks. Never did anything of these rebuild myself but from what I've heard rebuilding forks is pretty simple, not sure about rear shock though. You might need some speciality tools for that.

Go to Ebay. They have all sorts of these 250sx's people part out. Thats how I restore all my machines with real original parts.

I am going to replace the driveshaft boot, is their a special tool I need to remove the nut holding the bolt for the swingarm? I tried a punch but its not budging. What kind and how much gear oil should I put in the differential?

I was wondering if you plan on keeping the front end on it? I have a 250SX that I am thinking of swapping the front end. Its a 85, I was wondering if a 84 200X front end will fit. Post some pics when you can, curious on how it looks!

I'll post some pics up tomorrow. I am thinking of keeping that front end. It looks pretty mean with it.
