Wow looks pretty good. Thanks for doing this for me. It needs some TLC here and there but this isnt going to be a garage princess. If the motor is decent I might just put it in a 350x. I see it has the 350x shock. I wonder if it has the 350x swingarm. I see no decompression cable and the clutch arm will need to either be flattened out or the exhaust moved. Do you see anything else?

I think that is a 350x swinger now looking at it. Sweet!

That definitely looks a lot nicer! Other the the decomp. cable and the other stuff you mentioned, it looks like it was well done. It does need some cosmetic attention, but like you said, for a rider why put a lot of time/effort/money into cosmetics, hell, the seat isn't tore that's about all I would be worried about. I may try and get it started and post an idling video here for ya. When I tried starting it before, I didn't mess with the choke at all, (forgot about it....)

Just save time and use some starter fluid. He said it needed a choke so I am guessing it doesnt have one. Could be why its so hard starting. Be sure and check the oil first though. Videos sound good to me, lets hear it.

I'll give 'er another try this weekend. 350x's didn't have a cable choke, did they? I'll check the oil and use some starter fluid and put a lil fresh gas in it and see what happens.

There is a kit from powroll. Some friends of ours did the conversion once back before the 400ex was made. It was a hot bike.

you can't really put a decompression cable on these swaps it gets melted by the exhaust pipe. i have 2 of these conversion's and know a couple other people that do also and it was always a problem.
i'll take some pic's of mine and what i did for a better oil cooler setup using a 400ex one. way bigger. i got a shorty cobra pipe on my 93 300ex one that goes behind the frame tube instead of way out around the front like this one. the 87 250x one has a 2 into 1 pipe.
