The same thing happened to mine. I wasn't getting a spark. I checked all the cables and none seemed cut or anything. After checking everything else, I still had no spark. SO, I checked all the cables again, but this time running my fingers over them. I found that one of the wires from the alternater was broken on the inside of the insulation and not on the outside. It must have been caught on a branch or something and pulled to were the wire broke on the inside, but the insulations was still intact. Just a thought! may not be your case.

You didnt mention checking the stator coil...check the black/red wire coming out of the motor for current/voltage and/or check the ohms.

^+1

in my sig is a link to the factory service manual for this bike. there is also troubleshooting tips in it. also replace the plug. i have had a plug go dead before.

Is your ON-OFF switch turned to ON? Sometimes this can be the hardest problem to track down because it involves losing some of your pride everytime.

i have seen where the plugs on the ends came undone and that will cause it not to fire off as well. haev you pulled the wiring out of the light housing and lookedat it? cleaned it up and tried then? also make sure they are plugged in correctly. the inside contsact points of your switch could also be dirty.

the coil assembly behind the flywheel coudl have gone out. that can cause this sort of issue.

also check the cdi assembly under the cap at the top where the cam is. if the pin sheered off or the center has broken springs or anythign wring with the inner rotor assembly up there, it will cause issues.

use a ac dc test light to ground and the red/black wire it should lite up green with a flashing red light if it only glows red the stator is burnt out if you see no light theres a brake in the wire

o ya you can test cdis with it to hock it up to ground and kill wire it should glow red this means you got power in the cdi next hock it up to the coil wire it should flash green with a little red this means every thing but the coil works if the cdi is shot the kill wire glows but the coil dont if the coil wire constantly glows the pulser coil is shot

no it just looks like a screwdriver with a wire and aligator clip and a green and red led inside since i got it i wont do electrical work with out it it also can be used on points if you use a 9v battery the red light gose out when the points open
point sators glow red if they work since some use dc power one tip if your ignition stator quits and you have points you can use the lighting stator to ride home

if you get desperate this system works off the lighting coil

+1 on the stator coil, my 200s would only run when jump started then die out when hot. checked everything and couldnt find the problem. removed pull starter and there was oil everywhere!... the oil shorted out my stator coil. put a new crank seal and new stator coil and the way she goes. could be your problem..

Easiest, cheapest.
check your plug cap for resistance/continuity and cut off the very last bit of the plug wire and I mean no more than a sparkplug gaps worth or so . I've had that make all the difference.

If the E is electric start like mine, it would NOT fire with elec start.
Aggravated, I took the battery out to put in another trike and kicked it over
as a final good bye and it sparked.

I've also heard people changing wire harnesses only to admit their old ones were prob ok but just because they had to go over EVERY connection, including grounds, they worked.

The kill switch may also provide ground to the cdi for it to run. I didn't believe it either until I studied the wire diagram.
