Gonna be pulling my motor to blast and paint the whole bike, so while it's out I got both clutches, lower honda gaskets, with a cometic upper, and a wiseco 10:1 std bore piston. The bike runs perfect now, no smoke and easy to start but after seeing that it comes with a 7:1 or something close to that I figured a 10:1 would add just a bit more oomph! So has anybody upped their compression on their 200 and did u have to jack with the jetting?

10:1 is whats stock on the 83-85 200x. You could really benefit from grabbing a carb and intake off one fo those bikes, and run with the factory jetting. They're pretty common, so should be pretty inexpensive. I did that to my 85 200m, not a huge difference, but definetly noticable

generally, a jetting requirment is not necessary after just a piston upgrade. BUT you might was well check.

I have a 10:1 piston in my ATC 200 with exhaust and a UNI filter. I used a eBay carb that was for a 200x... It still needs a little tuning but it runs a lot better. I would put the 200x cam in it as well. Its not as fast as my 200x but its a big improvement.

I have a header off of a 200sx that was larger diameter than the es stocker with a custom muffler and a uni filter also. It will mostly be used for hunting and trails, last cam swap I did was on my supermoto putting an 02 crf450r cam in a 07 450x and it sucked!!! That was honda's most aggressive cam and it didn't want to start half the time with the electric starter you had to kick it and it would start easily, but to me that sucked!!! It ran like a bat outta hell, but not having the motor start as easily sucked. I had rejetted it as well, but it just wasn't a cam meant for the e-start. So I'm gonna leave the cam alone in this one, I'll save the cam swaps for the 350x I wanna get!
