i just got my knock off starter and engaging gear in today,new for 80 shipped. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130468301639&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT to anyone who goes the cheap route as i did on this,please take the starter apart and give it a really good greasing.i took mine out of the box and spun it over,sounded really dry.took it apart and it wasnt one bit of grease or lub in there.got her all grease up and installed on machine and works like a charm.

Glad I'm not the only popo rider, people really underestimate that 500 with the Fuji motor. What year do you have?

My 800 had been flawless except for a busted brake line that was my fault.
