There is no rev limit on a 350x.

Your rev limiter for that stroked motor is your thumb :D

People explored the 400EX CDI and it didn't appear to be an advantage, rather the opposite.

You'll be fine, that motor will be plenty to satisfy what your wallet put out! :beer

To have a rev limiter you would normally need an ECU

Good to know the no rev limit thing. I was going to look into a performance CDI for my 350x. Its ported, polished, 12:1 piston, 400ex carb, super trapp pipe. k&n filter, stock cam, bore, valves and springs (gunna change that this off season). I run the dunes in 4-5 gear extremely easily. I can run 6th but it doesn't stop fast enough. Hit a witches eye in 6th I would be parting out my bike from a wheel chair.

I have used the 400ex cdi on several bikes, all with good results,

Im not using the OEM box, but a DynaTek, or Sparks box. Both had very good restults over the stock 350x setup, but they will only work with a 86 electrical system, NOT THE 85 SYSTEM

Shame mine is an 85. I'm extremely happy with it. No one has ever ridden it and not been impressed.

I sent my CDI out to Curtis Sparks to be modified, and there is Definitly a difference. Mine is an 85, and I could be wrong but I always thought the stock CDI started retarding the timing around 8200 rpms. You have to get the heavy valve springs if you do it though.

Lookin forward to more on this topic.

Does anybody know what they do to them to modify them?

Mine just has a very small square cut into the back, and then they glued the cut out piece back in after they did the mod.
