If you guys remember i was going to go ride the 250sx yesterday.
Omfg it ran like a rock. solid i mean no ticking or anything.
Ran fast and shifted smooth. Needs little work, Started on 3rd kik
.

Just wondering i had problems with my 185s and i was wondering when i bought the new carb it didnt say what size jets so is there a way to tell, what size jets i have in my crab?

The only way to know for sure is to take your crab apart and see what jets are in there.

Each jet has a number on it.

Ok what would be normal?
So ill take carb apart when i get home.
so like 130? or something?
Could this be why its not starting.

I found i think #95 is standard? pretty sure idk though, but idk why its not firing up. bet it would if i pulled it behind the car.

Well the carb is always the first place to start. I have a 200s with carb issues and it hates starting(the carb is trashed). It could also be a tight intake valve. I always double check the carb before I go adjusting the valves.

Ok thanks i mean the carb is brand new so i dont know the jet size. bought it off ebay. tight intake valve?

yes a tight intake valve would limit the amount of air that comes in when starting and running and might cause a flooding situation

Dude i do have a flooding problem thats why it wont start lol,, Plug is wet also.

Intake valve? Is that one of the two valves? The one closer to teh carb intake mani? Wondering so maybe i can try lossening a bit..

it also might be your float level, I have that issue sometimes with my 225 dx, would look into that before opening the motor

Umm, no.

I've never heard the term "Tight intake valve" but my guess would be it doesn't have the proper clearance if it is "tight". This would not allow the valve to close fully. There is no way the valve can open partially.

"Tight Valves" mean that the lash still exists, but is set at a reduced clearance.

If the intake valve is set tight to the point where NO lash is in the valve train and PRELOAD (negative lash) is present, that is where valve will not fully seat at temperature and things go bad.

It may also be very difficult to start cold hot or both. When it is running does it seem to back fire through the carb?

That's what I thought you meant.

Each jet has a number on it.

If this is an new chinese ebay carb I don't think the jets have numbers on them.

Do you have a manual? If not, get one. Some people on here to have online one's you can look at. Both valve clearence's should be .002 . Clean the carb real good. The main jet should be a 95 and the pilot should be a 38. I always set the pilot screw at 1 1/2 turns out with the clip on the needle in the middle.

Lol what the hell u mean Chineese carb, Must be what i have because i do not see any numbers on my jets..
So is this the problem?
Anyway no it doesnt backfire when i have it running. And when its hot i can shut it off and it will fire right back up first pull,, only when its cold..
